As previously reported, CHEVELLE recently teamed up with famed horror director Wes Craven for a contest in which fans can create their own video for the band's new single, "Well Enough Alone". Craven, director of "Nightmare On Elm Street", "Scream" and many other horror classics, will choose the winner from the 20 highest-rated finalists based on peer voting. The winner will receive $3,500 in cash and a trip to Los Angeles for the chance to pitch a movie idea to executives at Fox Atomic Films.
CHEVELLE frontman Pete Loeffler told Launch that "Well Enough Alone", from the band's forthcoming album "Vena Sera", is a dark song about relationships. "Life is not worth living without honest, real relationships with people, and the song touches on what happens if some things are sort of abandoned and, you know, you never really get to the true, down-and-dirty point with people and really get to know them," he said. "So it's kind of telling people, don't leave things untouched, don't leave any stone unturned with your close people in your life."
Entrants can register at FoxAtomic.com, where they'll have access to the Blender, a web tool that can be used to edit the contestants' own original material with clips from the movies "The Hills Have Eyes" and its upcoming sequel, "The Hills Have Eyes 2".
Fox Atomic will release "The Hills Have Eyes 2" on March 23.
CHEVELLE has set April 3 as the release date for "Vena Sera".
The band will hit the road as openers for EVANESCENCE, beginning on March 16 in Fresno, California.
